About Longhorn Construction Services
History
- Longhorn Construction Services, Inc. was founded in 1990 by James W. (Bill) Lewis, and incorporated in 1992. Mr. Lewis has a Masters in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and held a Civil Engineering license in the State of New Mexico. Mr. Lewis retired in 2015.
- In 2000, Samuel D. Romero was added to the Longhorn team. Mr. Romero received his BA in Architecture from UNM in 1989, giving Longhorn Construction an added dimension in evaluating and offering value-added design support for the projects we undertake.
- Mr. Romero holds a GB-98, GA-01, GF-05 and, after 13 years with Longhorn, was named the succeeding President of Longhorn Construction in 2013.
- Mr. Romero is an Army Veteran (SFC) and served with the 1st Cavalry Division in Iraq (2004-2005) and served 16 years with the NM National Guard.
